IDA picks São Paulo as 2017 World Congress venue

The International Desalination Association (IDA) has selected São Paulo, Brazil as the venue for its 2017 World Congress on Desalination and Water Reuse. The event will take place in the second half of 2017. Specific dates and details about the venue are being finalized.

The announcement follows the conclusion of IDA's first and highly successful conference in Latin America, "Water Reuse and Desalination for Latin American Development," which was held in Rio de Janeiro in March.

IDA's Site Selection Committee and the IDA board chose São Paul from three final candidates - Kuwait City, Kuwait; and Busan, South Korea we're the other two.

Secretary General of the IIDA Patricia A. Burke said: "Latin America is widely recognized as an important emerging market in desalination and water reuse. We look forward to a very successful event in 2017."

The 2015 IDA World Congress will take place in San Diego, California from August 31-September 4, featuring a four-day Technical Programme, an major exhibition, an awards programme, plant tours and networking events throughout the week.
