IDA members urged to vote for new board

The secretary-general of the International Desalination Association (IDA), Patricia Burke, has urged all IDA members to vote in the current election for the board of directors.

By taking the time to vote for their candidate, IDA members have the opportunity to elect someone who shares their viewpoint about the future of the association. This election will determine the leaders of the IDA for the next two years.

“With a membership of well over 2,200, we would like to see a large turnout,” says Burke. “The voting does not end until October – no excuses. Our easy on-line voting (for members only) provides a ballot and biographies on all candidates.”

To access the online voting page, go to www.idadesal.org/polls.aspx. To vote you must be a current IDA member. Anyone requiring assistance, should contact the IDA membership manager, Ms Candace MacLaughlin at cmaclaughlin@idadesal.org.

“For the past two years, IDA has been blessed with the leadership of Lisa Henthorne as our president and the addition of Ann Seamonds to handle IDA public relations, which has put us on the fast track to set in motion so many of the strategic plan initiatives,” says Burke. “Already we have seen the young leaders program, the new journal, our public relations campaign and so many other advances. It has been an exciting two years – now on to the IDA World Congress in November in Dubai and a new administration!”
