Industrial conglomerate, GE, has agreed to acquire Netherlands-based membranes manufacturer IMT Solutions.
GE said IMT’s ultrafiltration membrane technology will expand and complement its existing ZeeWeed hollow-fibre ultrafiltration membrane portfolio. IMT’s products, include its SevenBore ultrafiltration membranes for high-pressure applications which GE sees as particularly suited to upstream offshore oil and gas operations.
“The acquisition of IMT Solutions and its polyethersulphone membranes will offer terrific opportunities for further growth,” said GE Power and Water’s president and chief executive officer for water and process technologies, Heiner Markhoff.
“Our technologies have great synergy and together will be able to reach a broader market,” said general manager, IMT Solution Nico Marsman.
