Flowserve wins pumps and ERDs for Larnaca desalination

DWEER™ energy-recovery units and Flowserve DMX high-pressure pumps are to be supplied for the 60,000 m³/d Larnaca seawater reverse-osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant currently being rebuilt in Cyprus.

The order to Flowserve Corporation was placed by MN Larnaca Desalination, a joint venture between Mekorot Development & Enterprise Ltd (a subsidiary of Israel’s national water company) and Netcom Ltd of Cyprus.

MN Larnaca Desalination will design and rebuild the existing SWRO desalination plant and then operate the upgraded facility for the next 25 years.

“Flowserve’s proven track record for efficiency and reliability of our high-pressure pumps and Calder DWEERs, along with a low overall cost of ownership and an experienced global project management team, were major considerations in being awarded this order,” said Jim Quain, president, Flowserve Engineered Product Operations.
