The full programme for the European Desalination Society’s conference and exhibition in Baden Baden, Germany, on 17-20 May 2009 is now available.
Also included are details of a pre-conference seminar on 17 May organised by the Deutsche Meerwasser Entsalzung (DME) providing an Introduction To Seawater Desalination.
The keynote speaker for the EDS conference, which is titled Desalination & The Evironment – Clean Water & Energy, will be Hans-Curt Flemming of the University of Duisberg-Essen, who will address the topic of Biofouling: Open questions, insufficient solutions, innovative approaches.
Another interesting event will be an evening reception and session on 18 May on The renewable energy desalination road map, hosted by ProDes, a consortium of 14 research institutes, companies and associations from Europe to support the market development of renewable energy desalination in Southern Europe. The project started on 1 October 2008 and it will run initially for two years.
