ERI supplies Andalucian desalter

Fifty PX-220 energy recovery devices to operate in the first-stage of the reverse osmosis process are to be supplied for the Bajo Almanzora seawater desalination project in Spain by Energy Recovery Inc.

The Spanish joint venture of FCC-Aqualia-Befesa is building the plant, which will supply 60,000 m³/day of fresh water to the region, for Acuamed, the governmental water authority. The plant is located in the province of Almeria, Andalucia, in south-east Spain and is scheduled to produce water in 2009.
