The California State Lands Commission on 29 October 2010 gave approval for the Huntington Beach seawater desalination plant in its revised location next to the AES power plant.
The last remaining major permit required by Poseidon Resources, which is proposing the 189,000 m³/d plant, will be from the California Coastal Commission.
