Colgate Palmolive joins Mexico's water reuse initiative

The Mexican national water agency Conagua has signed an agreement with Colgate Palmolive for the manufacturer to join the country's Initiative for Saving and Efficient Use of Water.

Colgate Palmolive has committed itself to reuse 183,000 m³/year of wastewater in two production plants, bringing to ten the number of large companies that have signed up for the initiative. Conagua says that its initiative has brought annual savings of 5.6 million m³ and that it is looking to sign up 85 companies in total.

José Luis Luege Tamargo, director general of Conagua, emphasized that joining the initiative affected not only production processes but the way company employees viewed water use, affecting their family use as well.
