California’s West Basin Municipal Water district announced on 26 April 2013 that earlier in the month it had received a visit from a group of public and private administrators from China interested to learn about water recycling facilities and the management experiences of US enterprises in wastewater treatment.
The group, from Jilin province, which borders on North Korea, wished to learn about US manufactured equipment and systems that could be used in China’s wastewater plants. West Basin says the group hopes to use this knowledge to import recycling wastewater treatment equipment through loans extended by the US Export-Import Bank in the future.
Ron Wildermuth and Wyatt Won from the water district led the visitors through an information session explaining the impact of population, daily water supply, water sources, cost and price on upper and lower supply chains. The group also discussed how private enterprises play a role in the daily operation of the facility.
