CaribDA board backs Trinidad conference

The board of the Caribbean Desalination Association (CaribDA) announced in December its full support for a regional desalination and water reuse conference in Trinidad & Tobago in May 2010.

The Water & Sewerage Authority (WASA) has agreed to host the 2010 conference and the CaribDA planning committee will be headed by WASA’s Errol Grimes.

Trinidad & Tobago is a particularly suitable choice for the event as it already operates the largest seawater reverse-osmosis (RO) desalination plant in the Caribbean and is currently planning for a significant capacity increase of new RO and wastewater treatment plants.

A first announcement and a call for papers for the 2010 conference will be issued in June 2009.
