A brochure for the Annual Symposium of the Southwest Membrane Operator Association (SWMOA) with a complete program and registration details is now available from the association.
The symposium, subtitled There is No Wine-ing with Membranes, will be held at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel & Spa in Santa Rosa, in California’s Sonoma wine country on 5‑7 May 2014.
The 2014 symposium topics include the future of membranes, a round-table discussion segment covering topics such as SCADA; capital improvement projects, staffing, compliance, etc; and a discussion on industrial applications of membranes. On the last day, presentations will cover effective operations of membrane systems.
With reduced yields and looming water shortages, vineyards are increasingly challenged to optimize water use to sustain the near US$ 1 billion industry. The event will include the role of membranes in wine-making, plus a tour and networking reception at a local winery.
