A 97 MIGD (440,000 m³/d) seawater desalination plant is to be built in Port Qasim, Pakistan, by Aeromix Systems, a subsidiary of RWL Water Group.
The US$ 775 million project involves the design, construction, operation and financing of a facility to serve the fresh water needs of approximately 500 industrial buildings in the Textile City industrial park.
A similar agreement was signed between Aeromix and the Kararchi Water & Sewage Board for up to 12.5 MIGD (56,000 m³/d). These facilities are a significant part of efforts by the Pakistani government to continue growing their economy by providing key infrastructures to local businesses.
Minneapolis-based Aeromix is structuring a financing option to allow the Pakistani Authorities to pay for the treatment plants through the purchase of the treated water over time. This is a unique offering from RWL Water Group that provides growing businesses and governments around the world with affordable drinking water solutions.
The RWL Water Group also includes Nirosoft in Israel and Eurotec WTT Srl in Italy. Services from all three companies are offered to each RWL Water customer.

Contract negotiations were made possible through a British consulting firm, Cook Consulting Ltd, who helped facilitate the agreement between Aeromix and the Port Qasim Authority.
