AMTA workshop to look at SCADA and PLCs

The American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) is to hold a technology transfer workshop on SCADA/Instrumentation & Controls for Membrane Facilities in Fairfax, Virginia, on 17‑18 July 2012.

The event will focus on membrane plant controls and automation. It will feature technologies and representatives from some of the leading manufacturers of supervisory control and data acquisition devices, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other instrumentation.

"We want to present a learning experience for an audience of membrane plant managers as well as their engineers and instrumentation technicians with an interest in how good PLC-controlled membrane plants are optimized and maintained for a more reliable and efficient operation", stated the co-chairs Ben Movahed and Bob Oreskovich, AMTA board members.

Participants and their families will also have a chance to tour the world‑renowned National Air & Space Museum (Udvar-Hazy Center), where the space shuttle Discovery recently became the centerpiece.

The workshop brochure and online registration form are available from the AMTA website.
