The American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) has told D&WR that it will be bidding to stage the International Desalination Association (IDA) World Congress in 2015.
Suggested venues would be San Diego, California, or Orlando, Florida.
Former AMTA executive director Ian Watson said that the association felt that a North American venue for the world’s premier desalination and water-reuse event was overdue. The last time the event was in the USA was in San Diego in 1999.
IDA is holding its 2013 World Congress & Exhibition in Tianjin, China, on 20‑25 October 2013.
