The American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) has fixed dates for technology-transfer workshops this year including a joint event with the South West Membrane Operators Association (SWMOA),

A brochure is already available on the AMTA website for the technology-transfer workshop on 23-25 May 2011 in Dayton, Ohio, entitled Ohio to the Outer Banks: Membranes are the Wright Way to Fly! This event is supported by the International Desalination Association and the American Water Works Association and includes tours to the Tipp City and West Carrollton membrane plants and the National Museum of the US Air Force Tour at the Wright- Patterson Air Force Base.

Topics sheduled for the workshop are:

  • Membrane Basics, Overview, Chemical Applications
  • Permitting Membrane Systems/More; Successful Membrane Treatment Plants – Case Studies
  • Discharge Considerations/Discussion Items
  • A panel discussion will be led by microfiltration/ultrafiltration vendors. The venue is the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dayton.

    The AMTA/SWMOA workshop will take place in Sacramento, California, on 27-29 September 2011 at the Tree Hotel. Details will be available soon.

    The final technology-transfer workshop of the year will be in Kansas City, Missouri, between 31 October and 2 November 2011. The venue will be the InterContinental Hotel. Details are not yet available.

    Following its announced link-up with the American Water Works Association, AMTA will be holding an AMTA/AWWA Membrane Conference next year in Glendale, Arizona. The event will be on 28 February-1 March 2012 at the Renaissance Hotel.
