3rd Osmosis Membrane Summit set for Barcelona

Norwegian power company Statkraft, which is developing forward osmosis for energy, is organising the 3rd Osmosis Membrane Summit on 26-27 April 2012 alongside the European Desalination Society's conference and exhibition in Barcelona, Spain (23-26 April 2012).

This is a follow-up to the previous summit held prior to the American Membrane Technology Association's convention in San Diego in July 2010.

Developing innovative membrane technologies provides a foundation for the creation of new methods for water treatment at lower cost than current methods and concurrently offers an opportunity to produce new sources of renewable energy.

The summit will allow attendees to gain the most recent knowledge that will contribute to a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of forward osmosis and pressure retarded osmosis. Delegates will also learn about the current status of research and commercialization efforts of these new technologies.

A detailed programme and registration information can be found online. Further information is available from: Birgit Osnes; tel: + 47 2406 8465.
