Actuator manufacturer and flow control company Rotork has introduced a new wireless valve monitoring and diagnostics product.

The Rotok RI Wireless system transmits real-time data to a central control room, enabling predictive maintenance for actuated valves, thereby reducing cost and improving productivity.

Small, battery powered valve monitoring devices are installed on valve actuators using a NAMUR interface, or on manual valves with an ISO 5211 interface. The devices collect data from the actuators or valves, and transmit it through a network of routers to the RI Wireless Gateway. The RI Wireless Management System then provides operational and maintenance data compatible with commonly used control systems. The system is programmed and commissioned using a handheld device that enables one-to-one wireless communication with valve monitoring devices.

Rotok RI Wireless products are designed for use in new and existing plants in the process industries and utilities, and are certified as Zone 1, intrinsically safe, for use in hazardous areas.
